Organising a fundraising event
Organising an event for cancer
  1. Get together with friends and come up with a new fundraising idea.
  2. Register your event online here and create your own personal event page.
  3. Encourage everyone to get involved and pledge money on your event page.
Set up your SomeThing Else

A two week fundraising tour by stagecoach? That’s SomeThing Else. A bad singing competition? That’s SomeThing Else. Planting daffodils in work boots and selling them? That’s certainly SomeThing Else. They’ve all been tried - and all been successful Cancer Council fundraisers. So don’t hold back!

Once you’ve decided what your SomeThing Else will be, register your event by clicking the Setup button above. Our events team review your event to check it meets our fundraising guidelines and supports the aims of Cancer Council - there’s unlikely to be a problem. We then send you a letter authorising you to raise funds on behalf of Cancer Council and a SomeThing Else kit to help you make the most of your event.

After that, you can set up an online fundraising page especially for your SomeThing Else. As well as collecting donations supporting the event, this page can monitor attendees, and provide running totals for you and your supporters. Click here to see a demo.

Once your SomeThing Else is over, we’ll send you a letter of thanks with the amount raised, plus a certificate for you to keep and share with your event attendees, team of helpers & donors.

Cancer Council
THE CAPED CRUSADER

Simon Webster has an unusual way of raising funds for Cancer Council. Every year, in May, he dusts down a bright yellow body suit, and walks the streets of Sydney’s CBD with as many friends as he can find. Simon and 99 fellow Yellow Crusaders raised $32,280 in 2008. It’s all about raising awareness and funds for cancer research. Secondly it’s about trying to make a difference. Look out for the Caped Crusaders next May.
